Psalm 12:6 NKJV
The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.
Imagine going through the whole of life without ever saying something wrong, hurtful or deceitful?
Who could ever do that?
Jesus
He, the Creative Word of God, became flesh.
How must it have been for Mary watching Jesus grow up among other children - comparing his pure words with the contrary expletives used by his companions?
She must have marvelled at His patience and understanding - even reaching out to her when she felt tired or poorly.
Probably other kids would have called Him a "goody-goody" and wanted to fight Him.
All the time He "held His peace" and "turned the other cheek".
John describes Jesus as being FULL of grace and truth.
This must have been a problem to Jesus' half brothers and sisters.
It's hard to be near a perfect Person, isn't it? It shows up our own imperfections.
Yet Jesus' perfection isn't harsh and strict - it is mixed with grace and mercy.
As we read the Bible we see that grace and mercy shining through, painting a picture of the Jesus we can know personally...
We live in a world full of words, words of violence, hatred and deception.
Words that spew out the bile of satanic rebellion against the One True God.
How purifying is it then to listen and absorb to God's Word on a daily, moment by moment basis.
It's cleansing, healing and enlightening.
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
