Psalm 23:5 AMPC
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
The sad fact is that in this world we will have enemies.
Even Jesus, the only perfect Son of God, had enemies violent enough to plot His death.
It's vital to realise that the Lord knows all about the enemies that will come against us in our lives.
He sees the approach of our foes and prepares a strategy to keep us vital and strong in those circumstances.
He says, sit down at My table and eat. Eat my Word and be fed on Me.
Like Jesus said in John 6:
John 6:51 AMPC
I [Myself] am this Living Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body).
While your enemy is seething and throwing out lies and insults - eat of Jesus. Let God take care of the rest.
Then there is the mindset in times of conflict. God has that taken care of too.
He anoints our heads with oil - the oil of the Holy Spirit.
In tempestuous times our thoughts come under attack. We don't know how or what to think.
Seek the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let Him still your thoughts and filter matters through the Mind of Christ.
We're promised a cup that is more than enough.
Always remember that the battle belongs to the Lord.
He knows all about it and is firmly in control.
So sit down, let Him take care of things. He's already won the victory over the evil one.
Come to that communion table of Jesus' Body and Blood - sit down and eat!
