3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5 For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
2 Corinthians 1
Ever wonder why you're going through something difficult and challenging?
Does the trial seem unending and an uphill struggle?
There should be a sign over your life "God at work"!
This passage is massive in understanding those kinds of long term trials.
Somewhere along the line you are going to bump into someone who is facing similar issues.
Just as Jesus comforts and strengthens us during these hard times, we are called to share that comfort with others.
Notice the word "compassion" comes first in the passage.
When we share it should be out of a compassionate and not a judgemental or superior attitude.
It should come from our weakness, pointing to the comfort that Jesus has given to us.
We should pass on the comfort. Show someone else there is a way out!
