One fate for all

Psalm 49:5-12 AMPC

Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of those who would supplant me surrounds me on every side, [6] Even of those who trust in and lean on their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches? [7] None of them can by any means redeem [either himself or] his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him- [8] For the ransom of a life is too costly, and [the price one can pay] can never suffice- [9] So that he should live on forever and never see the pit (the grave) and corruption. [10] For he sees that even wise men die; the [self-confident] fool and the stupid alike perish and leave their wealth to others. [11] Their inward thought is that their houses will continue forever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands their own [apart from God] and after their own names. [12] But man, with all his honour and pomp, does not remain; he is like the beasts that perish.

We live in a world where the mega rich seem to "call the shots"!

They gather together and make far reaching decisions that affect our daily lives.

In their pride, they feel invincible!

Yet, even with all their wealth, they cannot avoid the final destination of every one of us.

Psalm 49:14 AMPC

Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol (the place of the dead); death shall be their shepherd. And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their form and beauty shall be consumed, for Sheol shall be their dwelling.

Those so called "great men", who gather at the World Economic Forum, make their prophetic prouncements of how the world should be reorganised and reset.

They talk of "trans-humanism" (a merging of man and machine), as if they can plan to live forever - ignoring their Creator God.

However, believers have no reason to fear them.

Their plans will come to nought and Death will take them to final destination.

No one can ransom a person but Jesus. He is the only way to eternal life.

The bottom line for every one is:

1. Choose life in Jesus

2. Choose Death without Him

There is no third way!

In these days, when the cost of living is spiralling out of control, it's easy to be deceived into thinking that more money is the answer.

But Jesus makes it very clear this is NOT the case:

Luke 6:24-25

“But woe to you who are rich,

for you have already received your comfort.

Woe to you who are well fed now,  for you will go hungry.

Woe to you who laugh now,  for you will mourn and weep.

Don't envy the likes of Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk with their super rich life styles.

All their wealth will come to nothing unless they turn to Jesus.
