Romans 8:35 AMPC

Who shall ever separate us from Christ's love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword?

Recently we've lost precious friends to death.

People who were once so near and dear have passed over into eternity.

Now there's no longer that familiar voice and comforting presence which was with us on a daily basis.

It's a terrible heartache that at times seems unbearable.

We all live on the threshold of loss, even the rich and famous are not exempt.

Death, disease and disaster are cruel dissectors - wielding their their vicious instruments of separation - catching us unawares.

We, of ourselves, are powerless in the face of such brutal consequences.

Christ's followers have the enduring consolation that His Presence can never be severed from us.

Nothing can ever separate us from the love of Jesus. He is the One constant in an ever shifting tide of existence.

Time and time again I've fallen into His loving arms when devastated by some loss. He has ALWAYS been there with His comfort.

How I long for everyone to come into that unbreakable bond found in the love of Jesus.

What a friend we have in Jesus

All our sins and griefs to bear

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer

Be assured, grieving heart, Jesus is there sharing your loss, holding you ever so close.
