Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because it is the Power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 17 For in this Gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
It seems, in this country, everything is being done to erase any semblance of Christianity.
We have a muslim mayor of London who drapes the streets of our capital in rainbow flags and ramadan bunting, but refuses to allow Christmas markets (they have to be named winter ones) or acknowledge Easter where the Passion of Jesus is commemorated.
The flag is banned in case it causes offence, because it shows the Cross.
Even Norwood school has announced it is ignoring Easter this year to preserve inclusiveness! Absolute nonsense!
Church leaders are erily silent on these things. It's as if they are ashamed of the Gospel.
This is the complete opposite of what Paul writes to the Romans - he states proudly that he is unashamed of this precious and transforming Good News of Jesus.
It is the Power that brings us from darkness to light as we put our trust in Jesus.
Tell me, who doesn't want to be forgiven? Who doesn't want to be loved unconditionally? Who doesn't want to be given new eternal life?
Jesus, in His Passion offers us all these things in exchange for our faith.
It's the best news ever and I'm not ashamed of it - neither should you be.
Embrace this wonderful Truth and live by it.
