Acts 10:34-38 NKJV
Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. [35] But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. [36] The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ-He is Lord of all- [37] that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: [38] how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
When Jesus was active in His earthly life, He wasn't involved in politics, demonstrations or insurrections against Roman tyranny.
Indeed, He even healed a Roman centurion's servant when the Roman asked Him:
Matthew 8:13 NKJV
Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.
I'm sure there were many who disapproved of His actions towards the Jews' oppressors.
It seems that Jesus looked past nationalities into each individual's heart - He was looking for faith and worked according to what He found.
The Jews of that day were looking for a deliverer, a strong political figure who would fight off the Roman occupation and become their king.
But Jesus spoke of another hidden kingdom, not of this world.
Luke 17:20-21 NKJV
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; [21] nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."
"The matter of the heart is the heart of the matter!"
The way God's kingdom comes is "one at a time" - individual face to face encounters with Jesus who transforms from within via a new spiritual birth.
The most fearful active tyrant we face is our own sinful nature. That is our ultimate enemy that is the "kingdom" which needs to be overthrown.
The only way that happens is by surrendering self and accepting Jesus' inner Kingdom.
There is no way that a political leader can provide a new heart and a brand new start.
It's very interesting to note that while the French revolution was taking place and "heads were rolling", in England hearts were being transformed by the preaching of the Good News of Jesus by John & Charles Wesley and George Whitfield.
From that preaching and transforming of lives from within, came great social reforms - but the inner kingdom change came first.
Make no mistake, God's Kingdom is physically coming soon, let's make sure we're ready to receive it.
