John 15:13 TPT
For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends.
"Do you love me?" is a question often bounced between two lovers. They want to be assured of each other's enduring devotion.
I guess we all want an everlasting love, don't we?
Yet we only have to look at the rich and famous to see how they change their partners like their underwear! One moment "loved up", the next in court slicing up their matrimonial possessions!
Jesus proved His love for us by dying, laying down His life while we were ignoring His message and sacrificial act on the Cross.
Romans 5:7-8 TPT
Now, who of us would dare to die for the sake of a wicked person? We can all understand if someone was willing to die for a truly noble person. [8] But Christ proved God's passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!
No other love compares with that. Unless Jesus' love is the cornerstone of life, we're riding for a fall, because we all let people down, however noble we think we are.
"When I survey the wondrous Cross
On which the Prince of glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride"
"Amazing love, how can it be
That you my God should die for me"
