Jeremiah 31:34 NLT - And they will not need to teach their neighbours, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the LORD.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already,” says the LORD. “And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.”
Hebrews 8:12 NLT - And I will forgive their wickedness,
and I will never again remember their sins.”
This morning was dark in more than one way. It seemed all my past sins were being downloaded on me - dumped like a big weight to block out God's Presence.
God's precious word was the exact antidote to this gloomy start.
Satan, the accuser, loves to remind us of our failings and call into question our own salvation and complete forgiveness.
It happened to be me today, even before sunrise.
Then, in my daily devotional, these verses radiated the truth, afresh, deep into my heart.
God chooses not to remember and recall my sins. O happy day!
They have been eternally dealt with at the Cross of Jesus - covered over with His precious blood.
I may foolishly choose to let condemnation cover me like a dark cloud, focusing on my many failings and faults, BUT GOD, in His great love wants me to bask in the sunshine of His complete forgiveness.
Only one sacrifice was sufficient to pay for my sin and it has already been made, once and for all.
My "self flagellation" won't achieve anything but deepen my depression.
I do well to remember:
Romans 8:1-2 NLT - So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. ² And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
HALLELUJAH!
"I will remember their sins NO MORE."
