Ephesians 4:1-6
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Just a brief reading of the books of Kings and Chronicles shows how few of those who reigned followed the Lord wholeheartedly.
Indeed, there were 33 evil kings and only 5 good ones.
There was a tendency to mix the worship of God with other religions.
This is a very serious mistake.
The original name of the followers of Jesus was "The Way", because Jesus clearly stated:
I am The Way, The Truth and The Life - no one can come to the Father but through Me.
John 14:6
That means no mixing of faiths, no compromise, no watering down of the message.
Does it mean that we should behave aggressively toward those who don't believe?
Definitely not!
We MUST act out of love.
However, it is not loving to pretend that "the Titanic is not sinking"... meaning we should lovingly explain that Jesus is the only way to God, the only one who can forgive sins, the only one who can give us "The Blessed Hope" of eternal life.
Why would He lay down His Life on the Cross if there were any other way to God?
It is of great concern, therefore, that king Charles has said previously he wants to be known as defender of faiths and not Defender of The Faith (as the Queen and other monarchs were known).
His first audience called together leaders of all faiths:
We need to pray that the message of Jesus is not diluted and mixed with other beliefs.
Beware of such a mixing, making a one world religion that leads to deception and destruction.
