2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

When we bought our new pup, a change of ownership took place. We paid the asking price and signed the bill of sale. Then we took him from his old life to his new home, becoming his new human "parents".

Everything changed for him - new rules, new training, new freedoms. Now he has better food, a bed to himself, new toys and treats.

We changed the ownership on his microchip so that if he's lost he can be traced and brought home again.

Isn't that what we received when we were given new life in Jesus. No longer trapped in the cogwheels of sin and condemnation, but we're given a brand new start and a new life.

We're "microchipped" sealed by the Holy Spirit:

Ephesians 1:13 NLT

And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as His own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom He promised long ago.

The price that Jesus paid was with His own blood:

Ephesians 2:13 NLT

But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to Him through the blood of Christ.

Each of us are now in training to become like Jesus, doing things pleasing in His sight.

Of course there are mistakes, sometimes shameful ones, but, as His own, He lovingly corrects us.

I'm so glad to belong to Jesus, knowing that His home is my home too. He takes care of me and provides all that I need.

Hallelujah...
