Philippians 4:6,19 AMPC
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ( definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. [19] And my God will liberally supply ( fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Crises upon crises are coming thick and fast.
Inflation is eating up our income and savings faster than we can earn or save.
Each day the predictions of hardship and shortage loom large in the news.
How should we, as believers in Jesus, react?
The verses before us today precribe the spiritual "medication" for each day.
The Lord has promised to supply all our needs as we lay our prayers before Him.
"Needs" not "greeds"... in dire times of scarcity, the Lord will see to it that we are provided for.
However, He will not provide for our greediness.
There will be a trimming away of needless surpluses.
Also Jesus' "law" of giving and multiplication will come into play:
Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Remember that one of Jesus' titles is Emmanuel "God with us".
Jesus is going to be with us demonstrating His Divine Provision in times of lack.
Praise His Wonderful Name!
