My nearest and dearest's mum, a renowned school-teacher in Israel, was convinced that every child is basically good.
However, as we see in Scripture, this is far from the truth.
No one ever has to teach a child how to misbehave, it comes naturally.
Yes, we're made in the image of God, but that image was fatally marred by "The Fall" in the Garden of Eden.
Through Eve's and then Adam's disobedience, sin entered the DNA of the human race. From then on we observe how this sin bias taints every soul.

For I was born a sinner- yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.
The only way out of this fallen state is to be "born again" - just as Jesus told Nicodemus:
John 3:3 NLT
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God."
"Nic" was dumbfounded - he couldn't comprehend the concept. Today it's just as mysterious and miraculous.
The very fact of believing in Jesus takes out our fallen, sin infected heart and replaces it with a brand spanking new nature from above.
It was a promise made in the Old Testament fulfilled in the New!
Ezekiel 36:26-27 NLT
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. [27] And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow My decrees and be careful to obey My regulations.
Are you fed up with yourself and your old nature?
Have you come to Jesus for a heart transplant?
