Psalm 31:7-8,14-15 NKJV
I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, [8] And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. [14] But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, "You are my God." [15] My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.
Another "go-to" Psalm this morning.
Already prayers have been answered, my nearest and dearest is waiting to fly home from Israel.
What a verse "You have known my soul in adversity" - how deep is that!
There's something so mysterious about how the Lord gets to know us as we go through difficulties.
Certainly hard times show up who are true friends.
These past few days have been very testing for sure.
Yet "my times are in Your Hands" is so reassuring - I'm not in the government's hands or some bureaucracy or even in some terrorist, my times are secured in God's diary.
Satan's seeds of scary thoughts may fly all around me like machine gun fire, but the Lord is in control. He has my life and the lives of my loved ones.
Yes, this life is uncertain and tragedy does strike, but with Jesus in my life, only His timescale, His agenda will work out.
Make this personal God, Your God - open up to the Lord Jesus.
He wants you onboard too!
There's no other way to be eternally safe.
Father God I place all those going through trouble and distress right now. May they turn to you and find arms of love and comfort. In Jesus' Name we ask it Amen.
