Psalm 94:19 NKJV
In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
Lately my mind has been a jungle of all the needs around me in friends, family and acquaintances - and the issues being ignited through conflicts political, racial and in war.
Lots of missiles of "what if's" started to bombard my mind, taking my focus from Jesus and His absolute sovereignty in all things.
So, the Lord picked out this verse to bring me back to Him and to quieten me before Him.
When I looked up this Psalm, I found it addressed so many things that had left me feeling helpless.
Psalm 94:3-6 NKJV
LORD, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph? [4] They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves. [5] They break in pieces Your people, O LORD, And afflict Your heritage. [6] They slay the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless.
Just a glance at the news will leave me feeling like that too.
The rise of antisemitism is so sickening, but God....
Psalm 94:8-11 NKJV
Understand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise? [9] He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see? [10] He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge? [11] The LORD knows the thoughts of man, That they are futile.
I say to my soul this morning: "Look to the Lord, who sees, knows and understands. He has set a time to act and bring the wicked to account."
Psalm 94:12-15 NKJV
Blessed is the one whom You instruct, O LORD, And teach out of Your law, [13] That You may give rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked. [14] For the LORD will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance. [15] But judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it.
Be assured, my soul, the Lord God is faithful and will see that right prevails.
