Romans 8:31-37 NKJV

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? [32] He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? [33] Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. [34] Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? [36] As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." [37] Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

I'm sitting here pondering what can it mean to be more than a conqueror....AMIDST AND WHILE TRIALS ARE STILL GOING ON.

So I'm recalling my lowest moments, deepest regrets, biggest failures and weaknesses. Remembering my feelings of self loathing and darkest thoughts of even suicide.

Can it really be that during those awful times, in God's Eyes, I am more than a conqueror?

Nursing a severely broken heart, years ago, I couldn't see any hope in my future. At that point I wished that there was a "fast forward" button to press and see how things would turn out.

In spite of it all, I sincerely believed that the Lord was with me even at that time, whilst I felt nothing but defeat and despair.

But God, who lives in the eternal now (outside of and unrestricted by time), had it all in hand.

He weaves the most dreadful stuff in life into His Kingdom's Triumph.

Through Jesus I'm a part of, forged into a Victory that cannot be undermined or usurped.

As a footie fan, I've enjoyed ecstatic times where my team parades through the streets of London in an open top bus to the cheers of surrounding adoring fans celebrating victory.

I may be growing older, but I'm getting nearer that "open top bus" procession where Jesus will reign forever and ever and I'm part of His victorious team!

Hallelujah!
