Mediator

Job 9:32-35 AMPC For [God] is not a [mere] man, as I am, that I should answer Him, that we should come together in court. [33] There is no umpire between us, who might lay his hand upon us both, [would that there were!] [34] That He might take His rod away from [threatening] me, and that the fear of Him might not terrify me. [35] [Then] would I speak and not fear Him, but I am not so in myself [to make me afraid, were only a fair trial given me]. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus

When we're in deep trouble, unfairly dealt with, helpless before hard circumstances, it seems even God is against us!

The book of Job speaks to the question of suffering in this world. It doesn't provide a definitive answer, but voices emotions that we too have to deal with in our own lives.

However, the distinct difference is that we now live in the New Covenant era.

Job longed for God to have a human form that he could see and touch, one he could speak with face to face. Someone who could mediate.

For Job, God was some distant, all-powerful deity, seemingly untouched by human, particularly his, suffering.

We now have Jesus who will take up our cause:

Hebrews 4:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

We still have times of doubt and struggle, but now we, who believe, have SomeOne (Son One) to go to, who will plead on our behalf.

Be ever so grateful that we live in an era when God has revealed Himself in Jesus.

He ever lives to make intercession for us at God's right Hand:

And so He is able, now and always, to save those who come to God through Him, because He lives forever to plead with God for them Hebrews 7:25

Aren't you glad that you live in an era where God has revealed His Heart through Jesus?

You have someone who is on your side, able to plead your cause, even when the evidence is against you! His nail-scarred Hands will bat away the charges raised by your sin-stained nature.

Prayer: Jesus, how grateful I am that you showed up on earth and dealt with my guilt and shame. Thank you that you're on my side forever.🤗💗
