Magnifying

Ps 34

I love this Psalm...

Many times I've travelled back and forth through it and the Holy Spirit has pulled out "swords" and "consolations" to use during difficult times.

It's such a rich storehouse to visit and apply these promises to our own or others lives as we pray.

So often we use a magnifying glass on:

* the problem we face

* our own or other people's faults

* our fears for the future, money or health worries

BUT verse 3 says:

O magnify THE LORD with me, and let us exalt HIS NAME together!

Did you know that you can NEVER exaggerate the size of the Lord?

Whatever magnifying glass you use to look at Him, He's always greater and bigger and more powerful and more wise and fair and more loving and forgiving!

This morning as we come to Jesus let's really magnify Him together in praise and prayer.

As dreadful and shocking and massive this Corona virus crisis is, God is greater, God is able.

It hasn't taken Him by surprise.

Magnifying the power of the Lord isn't to turn our backs on the suffering, no, we serve Jesus, the Suffering Servant who is touched with our frailties more than we know.

It is HIS help we crave for our world. As we magnify His Power He is able to come in and turn the tide.

Are we like the disciples who when Jesus was asleep in the boat with them, woke Him saying "Don't You care...?"

They magnified the storm, like we do.

Let us exalt The Name of Jesus over ourselves, our families and loved ones, indeed our wounded world.
