Love never fails

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 Corinthians 13:8

We live in a success driven world. Bosses want better sales figures, teachers demand more studying, athletes strive to beat world records.

There's no room for failures and outcasts.

This ethos can even infiltrate christian fellowships.

It's vital to keep in mind that fellowships are more like hospitals (for recovering sinners) than factories (producing perfect people).

There must be room for failures and people that the world has discarded.

The only thing that will never fail is love.

You may feel like a failure in the eyes of the world, but, if you still have love in your heart, you're a success to God.

In His earthly life, Jesus lost everything. Yet, even as He hung on the cross, His love never failed.

He had time for the thief hanging next to Him - He provided for His mum - He prayed forgiveness for those who were His executioners.

His Mission looked like a failure, but His love remained firm to the end.

We know, however, that the Resurrection changed defeat into glorious victory.

In this ever changing world, the one certainty is that God's love will never fail.

Fellow failure, aren't you glad that Jesus' love just keeps on flowing?

Psalm 36:5,7 NLT

Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. [7] How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of Your wings.
