Little Israel, little me!

Psalm 121:1-8 AMPC

I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]-From whence shall my help come? [2] My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. [3] He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber. [4] Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. [5] The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield]. [6] The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. [7] The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. [8] The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Last night I kept waking up. Sleep came only sporadically.

We all have nights like that for one reason or another, don't we?

There are times during the day where we "nod off", not quite asleep and not quite awake.

Things are going on around us, but we're not really aware of what's taking place.

How wonderful then to know that our Heavenly Father is permanently alert, watching.

Who and what is He watching?

We'll, this Psalm makes it clear that He watches over Israel CONSTANTLY [v4[. No slumber, no sleep - always watching out to keep Israel.

Remember this, it's not Israel's military might that protects it, although it has great ingenuity and capability that we are seeing displayed now on our TV screens.

If all the world turns on Israel, God will stand in the gap, because He is faithful to His promise.

We, as believers in Christ, should be mighty glad that God is like that, for it demonstrates that He will do the same for us.

If He's faithful to the Old Covenant, how much more to the one sealed in His own blood?

As I commit myself to Jesus, there is no moment of the day or night when He's not watching over me.

I might "feel" abandoned and forgotten, but it's not true. Jesus promised He would never forsake me.

Hebrews 13:5

“Never will I leave you;

never will I forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 AMPC

Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.

Whether it be "little" Israel or "little" me, the promise is the same - God is watching over to protect and shield.

Our Heavenly Father is our own "Iron Dome" to take down the "missiles" that are aimed by satan to destroy us.

Continue to pray for peace and be aware that the Lord is fully aware of happenings and is shielding Israel and shielding us too.
