Psalm 95:6 AMPC O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker [in reverent praise and supplication].
What strange times we live in.
The current wave of protests across the globe is shaming folk who refuse to "take the knee" before the "holy grail" of their cause.
This begs the question "who should we kneel before?"
There's the brilliant story of Shadrach, Mesach & Abednego in Daniel chapter 3. Go on, I encourage you to read it....
They refused to bow the knee to Nebuchadnezzar's golden image.
They wouldn't cave in to peer pressure (even if it should cost their lives).
Hence they were thrown into the fiery furnace.
What happened next is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
Firstly, they were thrown into the furnace bound hand and foot.
Secondly, they were joined by the pre-incarnated Jesus [my interpretation].
Thirdly, the only thing that got burned was the rope that bound them.
I'm not trying to be political, but I'm saying, think carefully before bowing down to the latest wave of opinion.
If you pledge your allegiance where it truly belongs, you may find yourself in a fiery furnace of the world's anger, but you won't be alone - Jesus will stand with you.
In the end giving your worship to God alone brings its own reward.
Please don't misunderstand me, we must always "stand up" for the oppressed, but not "kneel down" to them!
Only kneel before God. One day all creation will take the knee for the King of kings:
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
