Just like any other day

Matthew 24:40-47

“Two men will be working together in the fields, and one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be going about their household tasks; one will be taken, the other left.

“So be prepared, for you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.

“Just as a man can prevent trouble from thieves by keeping watch for them, so you can avoid trouble by always being ready for my unannounced return.

“Are you a wise and faithful servant of the Lord? Have I given you the task of managing my household, to feed my children day by day? Blessings on you if I return and find you faithfully doing your work. I will put such faithful ones in charge of everything I own!

One day it will happen.

We'll wake up just like any other day: go through the normalities of washing, dressing and eating; work, school, shop - just like any other day.

Jesus describes it in detail in Matthew 24.

Then He tells that one will be taken, another left in many different situations.

Tim Lehaye used this discourse to write his "Left Behind' stories and movie - imagining what it will be like.

Even Jesus doesn't know the day or hour this will be, but we are to be ready lest we are robbed of our "selection"!

It's clear that this "taken" happening will be separate from Jesus' return to judge the earth and reign, because then everyone will see that - it will be like lightening flashing - no one will miss it.

But something strange will proceed this - the believers will be suddenly, mysteriously, instantaneously snatched away! Right in the midst of a normal day or night - gone!

Question: Gone where?

Answer: To be with Jesus!

Are you on Jesus' list, have you had your name put in His Book of Life? Do you have that belief day by day that you belong to Him and are watching for His Appearance?

You can be - get ready for the Great Escape by coming to the Cross for forgiveness and a new birth!

It's gonna be great, not to say glorious!

2 Timothy 4:8

In the future there is reserved for me the [victor’s] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that [great] day—and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and longed for and welcomed His appearing.
