“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
Jesus' promises always come true - probably none more than the verse above.
In the '60's there was the Jesus movement and their theme was: "Come to Jesus and everything will be happy and care free".
As we see from The Master Himself, Jesus promises the reverse.
Following Jesus is definitely not a bowl of cherries!
Yet, with the troubles, Jesus promises that He will give us His Victory to be an overcomer during the toughest of times with supernatural peace in our hearts.
You know how much persecution and suffering I have endured. You know all about how I was persecuted in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—but the Lord rescued me from all of it. Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived.
2 Timothy 3:11-13
As we draw nearer to Jesus' Return, crises are coming thick and fast, as labour pains on a pregnant woman!
We can expect persecution for our faith as deception grows.
We only have to look across "the pond" to Canada to see how Christians are being targeted.
Things previously thought unimaginable are now commonplace.
So brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert); set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favour) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed.
1 Peter 1:13
Be prepared for persecution fellow believers!
