1 Corinthians 13:1 AMPC
If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God's love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
No one can ignore a noisy gong or clanging cymbal - just try banging it in someone's ear hole!
Everyone has an influence for good or evil.
Look at how one human being, the Queen, has caused the whole world to take note, by the passing of her life, lived well.
I may think myself too insignificant to have any purpose or make any difference in life, but...
There is an old African saying:
"Anyone who thinks they're too small to make a difference, has never spent a night with a mosquito!"
As one who often has had to fight off a mosquito's malign advances, once the light goes out, I'm convinced that each one of us has a sphere of influence.
You and I CAN make a difference.
We may not be able to change the world, but we can change one person's world (for good or, sadly, for evil).
An simple act of kindness, a smile, a hug, all may cheer up a lonely person.
Indeed, life is made up of small acts, like bricks in a house.
One small brick laid lovingly, builds up a "house" of love.
One day, we'll look back and see what we've built with our lives...
Let's be a loving influence in people's lives for Jesus' glory.
Try to demolish any angry "buildings" as soon as possible.
Don't let them stand as monuments to bad temper and grudges...
I'm speaking to myself, of course!
