Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone sharing it with them?
Everyday our government gives an update on the "progress" of the COVID-19. Often the scientists and statisticians will talk about the "R" factor being kept below 1.
It is defined as the average number of people an infected person can pass on to others.
If it is greater than one, the infection will “spread exponentially [more and more rapidly]”, but if it is lower than one, it will spread slowly and eventually die out!
This led me to ask: "How "infectious" am I with the good news of Jesus"?
What is my personal "R" value?
If it was left to me would the gospel die out?
Not all of us can be Billy Graham, spreading the message of Jesus to millions during his lifetime, but we each can have an R value greater than 1.
Just think ... if that 1 becomes another Billy Graham, how great will be the effect!
One of the last words of Jesus in the gospel of Matthew chapter 28 is called:
The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
17 When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
One way to ensure the Presence of our Lord in our lives is to spread the Word!
Let's be R+1 in spreading the Good News of Jesus... He's alive, He cares and He wants as many as will come, on board the good ship Salvation!
