Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Ever feel like nothing is happening in a situation?
You've waited and waited on God's promise and it seems "NADA", "zilch" is going on ...
Go back to Gabriel's bold statement to Mary:
With God nothing is impossible!
Gabriel knew what he was talking about for, from aeons past, he had been constantly on assignment, on some mission, going about the Lord's business. Probably old "Gab" never had had a day off! So for him, doing nothing was impossible!
Later, Jesus said, during His ministry:
John 5:17 “My Father is still working, and I am working too.”
God is always at work bringing about His purposes.
The key is: am I with God or am I trying to manoeuvre something outside of His timeframe?
I say to my soul: "stop trying to GET God to do something and instead LET God work in His timeframe.
Jesus didn't burst onto the scene like superman, He had to grow in a womb, hidden from view, born in ignominy.
For 30 years, it seemed nothing was happening in His life - just learning His carpenter's trade in a backwater town - Nazareth - far from Jerusalem, the hub of The Temple where God's Presence was famed to dwell.
Was God working in Jesus' life during those 30, near silent, years?
You bet your boots He was.
Jesus had to experience the struggles of growing up, being misunderstood, the perils of family life and sibling rivalry. Did he face the death of His earthly father, Joseph? Perhaps, as we don't hear anything about him later on in Jesus' life. He had to go through being gossiped about, a shadow, probably, over his sexuality - as he wasn't married by the age of 30!
Jesus was tasting fully the joys and sorrows of being human to qualify as a true Heavenly High Priest.
That's why we can go to Him with our "why's" and "wherefores"!
He knows what it feels like to be "champing at the bit" to get on with things - but knowing the time isn't right.
Be assured, God IS on the case and IS working.
Luke 1:37 AMPC For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfilment.
