Hunker down

Psalm 91:1,4 AMPC

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. [4] [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

Talk of WW3, destruction and a nuclear holocaust is making the headlines. Terrifying atrocities in Ukraine are emblazoned across the news on a daily basis - it's no wonder that "hearts are failing for fear" (Luke 21:26).

Now, more than ever, is the time to "hunker down" in the secret place of the Most High.

Run to the Lord and stay in His Presence, under His Protection and His Provision. It's the only safe place to be.

This week, on a visit to a nature reserve, we saw a WW2 bunker. It was made of very thick concrete with lookout positions on all sides from which it could be defended.

I imagine that the soldiers felt pretty safe hiding away there.

But the safest spiritual bunker is to hide away in God's Word.

As Jesus said:

John 15:4 AMPC

Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.

Stay in the safe, secret place and LIVE in Jesus.
