Ezekiel 9:3 Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the Lord called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side ⁴ and said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it. ”
Things in God's Temple had deteriorated to such an extent that the Lord took Ezekiel to various secret viewpoints to see what was happening inside the very place where God should be worshipped.
Finally, the Lord had reached His tipping point - judgement was about to come - He couldn't stand the hypocrisy anymore.
Yet before the judgement fell, those that grieved in their hearts, were marked and spared.
In our society today, things are happening which fly in the face of God's laws: same sex "marriage", gender transitioning, mass killing via abortion, watering down of the gospel, marginalising Christianity.
How upset am I? Am I grieving?
Do I care?
t is vital that I do.
Our world is now ripe for judgement and it is coming - God's word is clear.
Only those who still stand for God's Eternal Way will be marked out and saved, through Jesus.
There is no "blanket salvation", each must be marked by the blood of Jesus, turning away from the world's ways back to the Lord through the Cross.
I say to my soul, don't get blinded by the world, be open eyed to the Truth and stand for it.
Be upset and grieve for the erosion of The Truth.
Again I ask myself: "How upset am I?"
