Romans 8:25-27 AMPC
But if we hope for what is still unseen by us, we wait for it with patience and composure. [26] So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance. [27] And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will.
It's been so hard to know how to pray about this ever deepening conflict in Ukraine - the needs are so vast and the tragedy so stark. It stuns my soul into staggered silence.
So I reach for this well-trod scripture in my absolute perplexed spirit and ask the Holy Spirit to pray in me.
I don't want to turn a blind eye to what's happening and I KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT I KNOW that the Lord cares and is with those who are fleeing for their lives and fighting for their freedom.
But I've run out of words.
Please use my groans and sighs and convert them into the deepest prayer!
Father YOUR Kingdom come, YOUR will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
