Psalm 107:19-22,43 “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death. Let them praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts. 43 Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the LORD.
Each of us has a history, unique to our self.
When you trace the route your life has taken, what do you see - acts of random chance, bad luck, or coincidences?
This Psalm tells us that seeing the Lord's love in our history is a wise thing to do.
Stop right now and consider how you came to this point in your life.
All the "eddies" and "currents" you have seemingly "drifted" on are, in fact, the river of God's faithful love for you.
Even if you are in a dark place, stuck in a stalemate, it's not the end of your story.
The Lord is the One who "breaks down prison gates of bronze; he cuts apart bars of iron" Psalm 107:16
You may be in the midst of stormy circumstances, God is with you there too:
Psalm 107:27-30 They reeled and staggered like drunkards and were at their wits’ end. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbour!
Be assured, He is framing your history.
Be wise and acknowledge the Lord's Hand in your life.
Let's give Him thanks and praise for all the way He's led us thus far and will continue to do so.
Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
