Hide & seek

Matthew 11:25-26

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

Have you ever tried looking at one of those pictures where something or someone is hidden in it. You try and try and then someone else comes along and sees it immediately! You wonder how they managed it....

How many faces can you see?

There's a mystery about coming into a personal relationship with Jesus.

Age and worldly intellect won't help you. In fact, if you are wise in your own eyes and pride yourself in the things that you've learned and what you think you know - it can even be a stumbling block.

Jesus says plainly that our Father God actually hides Himself from those who think that they know it all. What's more, He's pleased to do that!

Personally, I am one of the "kids" who had the special revelation of Jesus to my heart, plainly, at the age of 6.

At that age, I knew that I knew that I knew that Jesus had died for me and saw a vision of Him dying on the cross.

It was such a wonderful gift that has carried me all throughout my life.

Therefore it's so hard for me when I talk to a person that has no faith. It's like there's veil over their heart and mind.

How I would love to transfer what I know in my heart to those people, because it changes everything.

Can it be true that God plays "hide & seek" with people?

In no way! But, until a person really wants to know Jesus, and not just a casual enquiry out of curiosity, then God will hide Himself.

Hear what He says in Jeremiah 29:13:

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

My prayer is that, those who are reading this, will come to a point of simple faith and a deep, deep longing to know the Truth and bow the knee at foot of the cross of Jesus.
