Heart transplant

Ezekiel 36:26-27 AMPC

A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them.

Trying to keep God's rules and regulations with our stony old heart only leads to a dull, lack-lustre, dry frustration.

Our unregenerate hearts are at enmity with the Lord.

We naturally want to go our own rebellious way.

But God has a plan, and, through the cross of Jesus, in tandem with the work of the Holy Spirit, we are given a heart transplant!

This heart has a different operating system - one that is akin to what God wants.

In fact God wrote the operating system Himself!

Jeremiah 31:33-34 AMPC

But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel: After those days, says the Lord, I will put My law within them, and on their hearts will I write it; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. [34] And they will no more teach each man his neighbour and each man his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

These precious prophecies have been made available, not just to Israel, but to all who believe in the Lord Jesus.

We too are "grafted into" these promises.

Romans 11:17

And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree.

Now it's a joy to walk in His Way of Love, because love is in our DNA, it is our heart's operating system.

We have not just been updated, but we have had a brand new hard drive installed - to use the computer analogy.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Have you had your heart transplant?

It's available right now in Jesus!
