Psalm 23:3 NKJV

He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.

We centre so much on the physical and material things - from our phones, TVs & tablets we're bombarded with things to make us more beautiful, more entertained, more wealthy.

We may be fighting fit, but dragging around a starving, wretched soul, dead in "trespasses and sins".

In the search for some meaning, some solace, some identity in this materialistic society, we see drug and alcohol abuse on the rise.

When the only One who can restore the soul is excluded, the result is isolation.

You can be surrounded with people yet be profoundly lonely and empty.

Come this New Year to the One who can restore your soul. He paid a savage price for this to be so!

Personally, I come to Him, after a bereavement that still aches - soul ties have been ripped apart in a cruel & sudden way - I need soul healing and restoration.

See the priority in the verse - first He (the LORD) restores my soul and then He leads me in His Paths.

He knows that we need healing restoration of the soul to journey on with Him.

Pause in the stillness and let Jesus minister His healing to the deep part of your soul, bringing it back to life again.

Psalm 42:7-8 NKJV

Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. [8] The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me - A prayer to the God of my life.

May Jesus heal and restore you as you follow Him in this New Year.
