God's Secret Place

Psalm 27:5 AMPC

For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock.

Psalm 31:20 AMPC

In the secret place of Your presence You hide them from the plots of men; You keep them secretly in Your pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Psalm 81:7 AMPC

You called in distress and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Ancient castles concealed doors and stairways that were obscured and known only to a few privileged persons. They were purpose built for ways of escape to safety should the enemy invade.

As believers in Jesus, we too have the provision of "God's Secret Places" - there, in His Word, we find a haven of safety and protection, even in the midst of the most vicious struggle.

To the outsider it may seem futile to rely on God, but to those who truly believe it is an impenetrable Rock of Refuge.

A small child can appear very vulnerable until that child runs to its father for protection, especially if that father is a physical giant.

When we run to our God's Secret Place, we're not just relying on a physical defence, but on the Creator and Redeemer who has beaten Hell and Death.

Psalm 91:1 AMPC

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

I love that piece in brackets - "no foe can withstand". Our biggest foe is not flesh and blood, but the spiritual satanic, wicked, cosmic forces - they cannot hold out against the Victory of the Cross and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

That's the blessed "secret place" of salvation.

Physically we can be beaten and bruised, but we are safe in God's Eternal Kingdom, coming to Earth sooner than we realise.

Father God keep us stable and fixed in Your Secret Place now and always.
