Psalm 24:1 AMPC
The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it.
Isaiah 51:6 AMPC
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall be dissolved and vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner [like gnats]. But My salvation shall be forever, and My rightness and justice [and faithfully fulfilled promise] shall not be abolished.
What is the future of our planet?
Everyday there are predictions from scientists and climatologists of how long we have left to save the earth.
As if we are the guardians of the future, people glue themselves to the streets and spray paint on buildings, in protest of what they perceive as destructive industry and polluting energy.
"Mother Earth" and nature is worshipped and must be preserved at all costs, even if it is to the detriment of its inhabitants.
The passages above make it clear that the Lord owns both the heavens and the earth and, in His time scale, they will be dissolved and be made new.
Whatever is done now, however drastic, the decay is irreversible.
But, what is forever and eternal?
The salvation that Jesus offers to each one of us WILL last and never wear out.
His triumphant kingdom is coming:
Revelation 21:1,5 AMPC
Then I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea. [5] And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).
Don't be distracted by, or fearful of, climate change - seek the One who will remake Creation, the One who can save you from the coming judgement.
Seek Jesus.
