Give Him no rest

Isaiah 62:6-7 NKJV

I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, [7] And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

This verse "give Him no rest" woke me just now.

Now is not a time for Christians to keep silent, we must stand firmly on the Lord's side in support of His people.

I was heartened to hear a speech by someone from CAAA (Christian action against antisemitism) last night saying: "We Christians will stand with the Jewish community and with Israel against the vile hatred being perpetrated".

In many cities Jewish people are scared to go out and face calls to erase Jews from the earth by supporters of Hamas.

That this could happen in a country that fought against the evil of the Nazis is beyond belief.

Yet be assured by God's Word that He will stand up for His people:

Isaiah 62:8 NKJV

The LORD has sworn by His right hand And by the arm of His strength: "Surely I will no longer give your grain As food for your enemies; And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine, For which you have laboured.

Isaiah 62:1 NKJV

For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns.

Pray, pray, pray and put the Lord in mind of His Promises.
