God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Kids write out what they want for Christmas at this time of year, hoping for the latest x-box game or toy.
We're bombarded with gift ideas on the adverts - perfumes, watches, Christmas jumpers etc etc...
Yet there may be one gift, the greatest gift of all, that remains unopened by the many...
Our Heavenly Father gave us Salvation wrapped in His Only Son. Moreover He gifted us the faith to believe.
If you're a follower of Jesus, you can't even take credit for your step of faith.....
John 6:44 NLT
For no one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws them to Me, and at the last day I will raise them up.
Also did you know that you are a gift given by the Father to Jesus?
Now there's a thought...
To Jesus, you and I are a precious gift that He treasures - so much so that He promises that He will never lose us and will raise us up to be eternally with Him.
John 6:37,39,65 NLT
However, those the Father has given Me will come to Me, and I will never reject them. [39] And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those He has given Me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. [65] Then He said, "That is why I said that people can't come to Me unless the Father gives them to Me."
My nearest and dearest doesn't like getting gifts - they embarrass him!
Yes, I know it's a bit strange, isn't it?
However, we are all surrounded with gifts on a daily basis - air to breathe, a heart that beats, eyes that open, a body that moves - we have physical existence that we did initiate. None of us asked to be born!
Take time to recount the wonderful gifts that God has poured out - undeserving as you and I are.
James 1:17-18 NLT
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. [18] He chose to give birth to us by giving us His True Word. And we, out of all creation, became His prized possession.
