Get close

Hebrews 10:19-22 NLT

And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter Heaven's Most Holy Place because of the Blood of Jesus. [20] By His Death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. [21] And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's House, [22] let us go right into the Presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's Blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Hallelujah!

Imagine that - we can get "up close and personal" with the Almighty and Holy God because of Jesus' Blood!

No matter what we have done, when we surrender to Him, we are clean!

He's given us a Wash above all washings so that we don't have to carry a guilty conscience anymore.

There are some stains that are so, so hard to remove, virtually impossible - get some beetroot or turmeric on your clothes and it's probably going to stay there forever - unless.....

...some very special stain removers are used, but these take a lot of the colour out too.

But with the Blood of Jesus we are cleaned up and made brand new.

Then we can go into the Holy of Holies with a clear conscience - "just-as-if-I'd-never sinned" = justified!

Here we are encouraged to go boldly into God's Presence, without fear because of Jesus' sin offering.

Think if it like this - your dog has been for a walk and has rolled in something vile - say horse or fox poo. Before he comes into the house he needs to be cleaned up. If not, he would defile your home and dirty the floor.

Of course you still love your dog, but he must be washed first before you can let him in and hug him.

Jesus washes us with His Blood first, so God the Father can hug us and bring us close.

The Holy Spirit keeps on sprinkling us with that pure water to keep us clean.

So, go on, get close today, let Jesus wash you.
