Genesis 6:11-13 NKJV
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. [12] So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. [13] And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Matthew 24:37-39 NKJV
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. [38] For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, [39] and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
It's vital to take particular heed of Jesus' words about His Return because it gives us warnings in order to wake us up to the imminent appearance of Jesus.
In Noah's time the earth was full of violence.
It was so common that folk just became indifferent to it and got on with their lives as if nothing had happened.
You may say that the earth has always been full of violence. Just a glance in the rear view mirror of history will prove that.
However, are we not seeing violence pepper the globe on an unprecedented scale with wars, conflicts and uprisings?
Individual and group acts of barbarism are gathering apace on our streets.
People are quickly enraged over the slightest perceived offence and lash out in unfettered anger.
But then quickly forget it and carry on undisturbed - eating, drinking and living life oblivious and impervious to others.
Are we on the cusp of Jesus interrupting our indifference to His existence and sacrifice?
His Return will be catastrophic for those who have sneered at and mocked Him.
There's still a moment of time to escape that deserved wrath by claiming His Salvation personally.
Will you?
