Isaiah 41:10 AMPC
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.
The Bible is jam packed with the message "Fear not", "Don't be afraid or dismayed".
I just looked up "fear not" in my digital Bible and it appears 172 times (including my life verse above).
Fear is the "virus" that infects us all at one time or another.
It is the very opposite of faith and Satan loves to encourage us to fear everything except God and His Word!
Why does the Bible warn us against fear?
Just "googling" what damage fear does to our bodies, I found this:
"Fear weakens our immune system and can cause cardiovascular damage, gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, and decreased fertility. It can lead to accelerated ageing and even premature death."
Hmmm.... Looks like fear is a pretty lethal emotion, doesn't it?!
However brave someone is physically, this pandemic has shown that everyone secretly fears death. The outcome is that people will go to any lengths in order to stave off the inevitable - for we all must die one day.
There is only one true antidote for this and all other fears and that is faith in the Lord Jesus.
People are walking the streets in fear of catching the latest version of coronavirus, rushing to get jabbed, hoping for immunity.
Behind the mask you can see fear in the whites of people's eyes.
Fear is damaging them in a devastating way.
Fellow believers we must shine a light in this dark environment.
Realise that our lives are hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:3
Precious in the sight of God is the death of his saints Psalm 116:15
Whether we live or die is in God's Hands....
My times are in Your Hands
Psalm 31:15
We have nothing to fear in death.
As Paul said:
"For me to live is Christ, to die is gain"!
Philippians 1:21
Be assured, the Lord has your welfare at heart as you live in Him.
This world is just a transit camp to our final destination - to be at home with Jesus.
So go about your life strong in the knowledge that:
Psalm 121:7-8 AMPC
The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. [8] The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
Fear not!
