Jeremiah 31:3 AMPC
The Lord appeared from of old to me [Israel], saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.
We live in a world where faithfulness has lost its meaning.
People change partners like changing their underwear, forgetting what they promised in their marriage vows.
This leads to a loss of security for adults and children.
Society now is rife with deserted, forsaken and broken hearts - the great "unloved".
Indeed a lack of love is a sign of the times:
Matthew 24:12 AMPC
And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity,
But he who endures to the end will be saved.
Deep in our hungry hearts we long for an anchor - for it is a lonely, lost world in which we live.
It follows then, that we can often feel forgotten by God...
Isaiah 49:14 AMPC
But Zion said, The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.
Not so, says our Lord. He compares His love to that of a nursing mother to her baby...
In verse 15 read on ...
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget, I will not forget you...
Verse 16...
Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands;
Imagine that...
Today it's popular for parents to tattoo the names of their children on their arms...
But the Lord got there first!
When He looks at His hands He sees your picture INDELIBLY imprinted!
Take it a step further .... when our Lord Jesus sees the nail scars, He remembers just how much He loves you.
You are NOT forgotten or forsaken - God IS faithful and will love you eternally.
That is something that will never fail...
