Ephesians 5:15-17 AMPC
Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), [16] Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. [17] Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.
We certainly are seeing the "evil days" of which the Bible warns.
I'm not the best hiker, compared with my nearest and dearest, who is like a mountain goat on harsh terrain.
I have to pick my way gingerly over rocky ground so I don't turn an ankle or graze a knee.
The verse above warns about "evil days" where there are many traps and pitfalls for us to fall into - a veritable minefield to negotiate.
So, like me on a hike, we have to be ever so careful with each step so we don't turn the ankle of our faith or graze the knee if our love-walk.
These evil days make us look around for someone to blame - maybe a people group or politician. Satan's desire is that we should turn on one another, whilst he hides incognito!
I easily fall for this strategy and it sets the world at each other's throats... as Jesus prophecised:
Matthew 24:10 AMPC
And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him Whom they ought to trust and obey] and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred.
God forbid that I should be one of them.
Lord help me to see the real enemy and live close to You so I don't fall away.
