Isaiah 49:13-16 AMPC
Sing for joy, O heavens, and be joyful, O earth, and break forth into singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have compassion upon His afflicted. [14] But Zion [Jerusalem, her people as seen in captivity] said, The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. [15] [And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you. [16] Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.
Today we celebrate our mums. There will be cards and flowers, special meals and visits.
A mother's love for her children is the closest to the Lord's love for each one of us.
Here, in this scripture, we see how God shows His deep love for His people, saying He can never forget.
He has tattoos on the palms of His hands to remind Him.
Yes, we can compare it to the nail scars on Jesus' hands. He has retained those scars to remind Him of the cross and His deep love for us.
Maybe your mum or parents fell short of the norm. If so, you can turn to an even greater, eternal love, in Jesus.
He always loves you.
Psalm 27:10 AMPC
Although my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet the Lord will take me up [adopt me as His child].
Personally, I had the most precious mum. She cared so much and pointed me to Jesus through her loving kind ways.
Today I celebrate her life, and, even more, celebrate Jesus.
