Dressed to the nines!

Isaiah 61:10 NKJV

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

When we appear before the Judgement Seat of Almighty God we will all be wearing some sort of spiritual attire.

Going to an earthly court is a dreadfully formal occasion and the defendant should surely wear something appropriate to "impress" the judge.

But what about the Judge of Heaven, the Ancient of Days? How to dress to impress Him?

Daniel 7:9-10 NKJV

"I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; [10] A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened.

Should I wear my "Sunday-best" good deeds without changing the filthy underwear of my sinful self?

Wouldn't I stink the Cosmic Courtroom out?

Even the deodorant of religious and pious activity wouldn't mask the putrid perfume of my fallen nature.

Realising everything we have in our spiritual "wardrobe" is rotten to the core - that's the first step to being clothed anew.

When we realise we have nothing to wear and let Jesus dress us up in His Salvation and regal robe of His Righteousness, then we will be "dressed to the nines", ready to stand before Almighty God and be declared "not guilty".

Then, whatever was written in those "damning" books will be erased and blotted out by the Blood of Jesus.

What an amazing spiritual wardrobe Jesus has given us.

Be seen wearing it everyday - don't revert to the unwashed garments of old - although we all do at times!

Wear His kindness, His gentleness, His forgiveness, His peace, His justice, His anger too, and above all put on His love ( the best overcoat).

Colossians 3:14 NKJV

But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Not our Sunday-best but His Best - praise You, Jesus, for the price You paid for my tailor-made garment of Salvation.
