Distractions

Psalm 119:37 NLT

Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through Your Word.

Our eyes have so many opportunities to be distracted.

With smartphones seemingly welded to our hands, busy thumbs sift through endless empty amusements absorbing our waking hours.

The Psalmist didn't have that technology, yet still found that there were hindrances aplenty to wean him away from time spent with God and in His Word.

The Holy Spirit prompted me to stop being diverted by endless political and even spiritual topics on YouTube and listen to what He had to say.

One on one time with Jesus is essential to stay away from deception - God's Word is our GPS to navigate the rocky waters of 21st century living.

Know the Word, live in it, be guided by it, Jesus is the Word made flesh.

John 1:14 NLT

So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.

John 15:5 NLT

"Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.

After wasting time surfing, I find I've ended up "doing nothing"!

I must stay connected to Jesus!
