Amos 7:12-13 NLT
Then Amaziah sent orders to Amos: "Get out of here, you prophet! Go on back to the land of Judah, and earn your living by prophesying there! [13] Don't bother us with your prophecies here in Bethel. This is the king's sanctuary and the national place of worship!"
It hurts my heart that the national church in the UK is discounting God's Word and has succumbed to the corrupt and decadent culture of these perverted days.
Both the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have strayed from the primacy of Scripture and have trimmed God's life principles to fit the spirit of the age.
UK's king - whose title is defender of the faith - has remained publicly silent on these matters - not wanting to offend people - he, by default, offends the Lord!
The verse above sees Amaziah, the king of Israel, telling Amos to clear off and cease prophesying - stop interrupting and disturbing the national place of worship!
Imagine stifling God's message in the very place it should be proclaimed!
Yet that is where we are in this nation - collapsing in the face of societal pressure.
The new "bible" being diversity, equality and inclusion.... meaning anything goes...nothing is sinful...
The Cross paints a different picture...Jesus had to pay the death penalty for humans' rebellion against a Holy God.
Psalm 14:2-3 NLT
The LORD looks down from Heaven on the entire human race; He looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. [3] But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one!
Yes, the Salvation that Jesus offers is inclusive, offered equally to diverse people everywhere, but it behoves each one of us to recognise our sinfulness and turn to Jesus in repentance.
James 4:8-10 NLT
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. [9] Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. [10] Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honour.
God hasn't changed - we have - shame on us!
