Romans 12:12 AMPC Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer.
Constant derives from Latin verb meaning "to stand with," so something constant is continually standing with you and not wavering.
When we're going through a trial that seems never ending, it's so comforting to know that someone is constantly praying about us - standing with us.
A look back at your own life and you'll find you've had the support of faithful friends praying, encouraging and cheering you on when you are down.
For each one of you I am so very grateful.
It's vital to be constantly connected to Jesus through prayer, especially now when the world is in chaos.
This prayer can take many forms, there's no need to dress it up, just talk to Him in your heart as you would your best mate. Be naturally supernatural [cribbed from Mike Pilavachi]!
Share your thoughts, your hopes, your dreams, your anger, your sorrow, your concerns, your work and make space to listen to what is on His heart.
When on a journey you don't give up half way through, do you?
Before the M25 and Dartford tunnel was built, I remember travelling "oop north" to see the strange-talking, flat-capped relatives!
It was an arduously tricky journey - especially getting across London with it's spider's web of crisscrossed, jam packed roads. I can recall dad constantly asking mum for navigation details from the map. Trust me, it wasn't always the most peaceful of journeys, sometimes they got lost - took a wrong turning - had to stop and ask for directions! But they kept going - often through heated exchanges - until they reached the [in my case "dreaded"] destination - well north of the Watford Gap!
So we, on our life's journey, are called to keep going, sometimes there's no M25 to get around our trials, we have to go through the chaos of confusing "Londons" - let's be good navigators to our fellow "travellers" and constantly stand with each other in prayer.
We have God's promise:
Psalm 32:8 AMPC I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
The Holy Spirit is given to be our constant Companion and Comforter, Counsellor - our holy "GPS" throughout our lives eventually bringing us home to our final destination.
