Confused

Matthew 9:36 When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

I guess the majority of people right now are very confused at what is transpiring, not just nationally, but globally.

Yet another new virus strain, this time from Brazil.

It seems like there's no end to it.

Jesus, in His earthly mission, looked at the crowds and felt deeply for them as we read in the verse above.

He could see the confusion and helplessness and his heart was moved with compassion.

They were being oppressed by a tyrannical government and taxed to the hilt, overburdened by religious rules and regulations. There were no furlough arrangements or NHS to rely on.

Jesus took immense gratification in relieving sickness and all kinds of troubling conditions for as many as who came to Him.

His offer, of being the Good Shepherd in our lives, still stands.

Today times may have moved on but the issues are similar! People still don't know which way to turn.

I've spoken to a few of my clients who are scared stiff and bemused at this COVID-19 crisis, not knowing which way to turn. Lives weighed down with worries and fear of disease.

Government encourages us to put our faith in the NHS and a vaccine.

Vain is the help of man.

Our gaze must be turned toward the One who has our best interest at heart.

He doesn't have shares in the drug industry or PPE manufacture.

His loving care is disinterested in the world's values, but rooted in compassion.

Remember the lady who sneaked up on Jesus in the crowd - only wanting to just touch Jesus and find healing?

Matthew 9:20-22

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

Time to reach out to Him.

You may feel like one among many, but He feels you as you reach out in desperate faith to touch Him.
