Luke 2:15 NKJV
So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us."
"Let me see for myself" - that should be the least response to Jesus.
Lots of people dismiss Jesus as just another religion to be confined to the dustbin of history.
Only the other day someone said exactly that, not in a disparaging way, but in an uninformed attempt to nullify the gospel message via Satan's lies.
He said that you can't trust the Bible because it's been altered in order to control people.
My reply was that I'm not talking about religion, but a personal encounter with the Risen Lord Jesus.
It's not too late to have such a meeting - Paul met Him on the road to Damascus - after His Resurrection. Look how convinced this once fanatical Pharisee became.
On the way to kill Christians, he met Jesus in a blindingly life changing encounter. Going on to be a devoted follower of Christ, he wrote many letters featured in our Bible of today.
For Paul, it was Jesus stopping him in his tracks, for the shepherds it was a voluntary visit to see what the angels had told them.
This Christmas is a great time to see for yourself - as the carol says:
Come and behold Him born the King of angels...
Come and see for yourself!
