Matthew 25:41-45 AMPC
Then He will say to those at His left hand, Begone from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels!
In WW2, as country after country was invaded by the Nazis, many tried to save their skin by collaborating with the enemy.
In doing so, they had to go along with the Nazi ethos, and put their consciences to one side, and carry out evil acts, that they would've never contemplated previously.
They kept silent in the face of terrible acts of sadistic violence and even joined in with the cruelty.
Yes, they had a temporary reprieve, enjoyed some privileges, until the Nazis were defeated.
Then they suffered shame, condemnation and punishment - sometimes the same punishment as the Nazis did. All because they simply went along with them.
Jesus defines that the fires of Hell were prepared for the devil and his angels - the originators of rebellion against God.
Hell wasn't created for humans. Heaven is meant for us.
However, from the beginning, we have been duped into collaborating with the enemy. He is the master of deception.
He will bring about convincing propaganda to seduce us away from the truth.
He will stir up opposition and use any means to get us to collaborate with him.
In Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus describes how it will be when He returns to judge the world.
There is a stark difference between those who have acted with love to those around them - "the least" of these, and, those who have collaborated with the enemy - doing NOTHING for anyone, ignoring those in need.
How we treat people, especially those seeming insignificant ones, actually equates to how we treat Jesus.
We will be judged by that yardstick!
Don't get caught collaborating with the enemy and ride rough-shod over those in need:
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
